Weekend Wrap Up

This week has been quite a busy week. You'd think with summer just around the corner things would start to slow down and we'd have more time for things. Well that is just not the case. Not yet, anyways.

Friday we had some painters come and paint 5 areas of our house. We loved it so much we are considering having them come back and do the 5 remaining areas that need to be done. When we moved into this house over the summer, the whole house had been painted a pretty kaki color, but it was the cheapest flat paint you can buy. Every little mark stuck, and I mean every.little.mark. Imagine a toddler flinging food at the dinner table. Yep, those marks stuck. Me in the kitchen slopping around. Yep, that stuck too. Anyways, it was driving me nuts, so we decided to remedy the situation.
The front door was a dark, natural wood. We painted the outside black, but kept the original wood on the inside of the house.

Not put back together yet, but this is the new kitchen - ryegrass

Foyer - a similar kaki to the original, but with a little warmer feel - lyndhurst
Now I'm going to have to go back and recreate my awesome staircase collage. I hope it's just as awesome the 2nd time up.

A friend asked me not too long ago how Josh and I stored our clothes if we didn't use chester drawers in our bedroom. This is our solution. Plus, we each have our own walk-in closet. I didn't show the rest of the room b/c it's not put back together and the bed still needs to be moved. This is the same color as the den/living room - woodlawn blue

Friday night we went to a graduation party for one of Josh's former students. The group of kids that graduated this weekend is one of his all-time favorite groups/classes of kids.

These are the only pictures I got of our time at the graduation party. We were busy playing with dogs,  eating, and running around someone else's house.

Saturday morning we went to Liberty High School's class of 2012 graduation. It was nice to see all the familiar faces receiving awards and walking across the stage. It really makes you realize just how fast time really does pass us by. Josh even got a little emotional, but, shhh! Don't tell him I told you.

On our way to greet the graduates.

Philip

These two got him all emotional. In his defense, they are both truly outstanding!

After graduation we went to lunch at Moe's with some other teacher friends. We are really starting to love that place.
After T took a nap and I cleaned and out some of the house back together, T, McKinley, and I went to Greenville to shop around a little bit. We did well, and everybody came home happy.

This morning we went to church. We were supposed to go out on the boat with some friends, but the weather told us otherwise, so we ended up grilling out at their house instead. Now, I've been to the grocery store to get some goodies for my kids' end of the year celebration, supplies to play Minute to Win It tomorrow, and J and T are both taking a nap.

I'm really going to try and enjoy this last week of school with my kids. They have been such an awesome group of students and I have really loved getting to know each of them! No bad apples! :)
Then, it's summer time fun and the calendar is filling up quickly!
