The Pool

Well, today's the big day! We finally got to take Tillman to the pool. Today is Memorial Day and we just got back into town from our cousin's beautiful wedding in Wake Forest, NC yesterday. We got together today with some friends. Josh went out on the boat with Tyler and I went to the pool with Tillman, Christy, and Nolan. We all had a great time and snapped just a few pictures along the way. After the pool, we played around at the house after a really good nap from Tillman, then we headed over to the Costner's for more hanging out with friends and a yummy cookout that included homemade icecream. Happy Memorial to all!

Brandon & Amanda's Wedding Weekend

Josh, Tillman, and I traveled to Durham, NC/Wake Forest, NC this weekend for my cousin's wedding. We were very excited about going because we knew it would be like a mini-family reunion with all of our family in town, and most of the family had not met Tillman yet because we live so far away from each other (Northern VA and RI).
We got in to Durham to stay with my grandpa, Tillman's great-grandpa, Friday evening. We said our hellos and waited up for Uncle Tony and Auny Danica. They got in about 11:00 and Tillman was still awake. Her ususal bedtime is 7:30. She did great.

She loved playing with this lei all weekend! It's so bright and colorful

Saturday morning we got up and went over to Grandpa's room for breakfast and hanging out. We played some, went shopping some, visited, and had lunch. Then we all parted ways to get ready for the wedding. The ceremony and reception were outdoors at a mutual site and it was absolutely beautiful!! I loved all of the colors, decorations, and details. It was very nice.

...and...she's down for the count. She did so well considering she skipped some naps, it was hot, it rained, she was passed around like a hot potato, etc. What a champ!

The BEAUTIFUL bride with Tillman - this is WAY passed Tillman's bedtime and look how well she's holding up.

Sunday morning we got up around 8:00 and had breakfast and visited one last time with family. We all hung around until lunchtime, then we had sandwiches, and families started departing to make the trips home. We had a wonderful weekend and were so excited the entire family finally got to meet Tillman.

This is where Tillman slept all weekend. This is her pea pod travel bed. She did surprisingly well and slept through both nights even though we found out Sunday that we were putting the inflatable mattress in the bed the wrong way.

Splish Splash!!

Tillman has always seemed to enojy taking baths and splashing in the water. This has led me to believe she will really like swimming and being in bigger bodies of water than the bath tub. Well, today is an absolutely gorgeous day in Easley, SC!! It's in the low 90's, sun shining, a breeze here and there; it's just a wonderful day to be outdoors. I texted 3 friends to see if their pools were ready to swim in, because I canNOT wait to see Tillman's reaction to a full-sized pool. None of them are quite ready yet, so I loaded up Tillman and we went to Wal-Mart to buy some Little Swimmers diapers and a baby blow up pool. When we got home, I put on my bathing suit (I wanted it to be fun for all of us) then I pumped up the pool and got Tillman dressed and lathered in sunscreen. We went outside and filled the pool with water, which was really cold, but felt really good at the same time. I put a few floating rings in the pool with her and put her in. She has gotten MUCH better at sitting up unassisted, so she actually sat the whole time she was in the pool (20 min) with only one quick spill. Tillman loved the water and the splashing, and now I'm even more anxious to see her in a regular-sized pool.  She did great! Now she is sound asleep upstairs for a nap. Wiped out!! Here are a few pictures of our newest adventure: water & a pool.

The cloud is kind of limp. I didn't have the energy left to blow it up all the way.

Isn't she sweet??

She loved the pool! We'll be back out in it again soon.
