We Took A Lot of Pictures Wednesday

Wednesday was a busy day. All the kids stayed at the house and played at the beach while Mom and Dad traveled to Ocracoke Island to see one of the lighthouses known to the Outerbanks. This was also the day the kids booked a photographer for a family photo session as a gift to Mom and Dad for this awesome week of family vacation. I obviously went picure crazy Wednesday because this is just a snapshot of our day.

Starting the morning off with some Sesame Street.

Josh and Danica got creative and buit a moat for a nonexistent castle.

It looks impressive though and it outlasted several waves.

She's good at this whole relaxing thing.

And a mermaid. They are much more creative than me.

Josh and I set a new frisbee record: 52 throws without dropping it.

And this is the product of Josh's whole he was digging from earlier. He accomplished this all by himself.

Feeding the seagulls some leftover bread.

They were running laps chasing each other all night. I wish I had gotten a front shot too, but I still thought this was cute.

I love this little girl!

I don't know what we're going to do when we have to leave Chiefa tomorrow. Tillman is so attached she might need some therapy to cope with the separation.

The next few are of Mom and Dad's visit to Ocracoke Island. I took these pictures from Mom's camera.

Taking it Easy Tuesday

Monday night a thunderstorm came through the area. We all sat outside on the porch and watched it for a little while, watching the lightning light up the sky. It was kind of neat, but I am still afraid of storms so I didn't stay out too long, and it was getting chilly. Due to the storm, Tuesday turned out to be a very cool, windy day. So we decided to take a break from the beach; there was practically nobody on the beach at all, and we went into Nags Head to do a little shopping and eat lunch. This was our first, and only thus far, meal away from the house. We've been cooking most meals and creating some interesting sandwich concoctions. Mom has also spoiled us rotten with a big breakfast every morning we've been here: french toast, pancakes, bacon, sausage, fruit, sausage bundles, cinnamon rolls, etc. Spoiled.

So, here is our Taking it East Tuesday:
Even though it was windy, we still decided to go on our daily walks. Mom, Dad, and Danica have gone on morning walks/runs everyday we've been here. The rest of us have gone on walks here and there. Tuesday morning I went on a walk with Mom, Dad, and Danica. We walked down to our left so we could see the house that was used in the filming of the movie Nights in Rodanthe. Richard Gere and Diane Lane were the two big stars in the movie. The movie is based of Nicholas Sparks's hit novel. I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but I got really excited to see the house that was used in the film. Mom has seen the movie, Danica has read the book, so I guess I will need to do one or the other so I can have a stronger connection with the house.

Grandpa & T getting ready to head out for some shopping in Nags Head.

The back seat of the Yukon. Mom is loving this. Tony, not so much.

On the way back from shopping Mom was in charge of entertaining Tillman. She decided to give her a pretend pedicure with a shredded tissue between each toe. T loved it.

Tiger & Danica

After returning from our shopping escapade, we all decided to dose off for an afternoon nap. Dad takes this task very seriously.

As does Tillman.

Tiger & Chiefa playing on the beach. I think he was really trying to lure Chiefa into the water.

Preparing to go out for our evening walks.

We love this part of the day.

These are some happy grandparents.

Grandpa enjoying his first run on the beach with his favorite granddaughter.  She really did run half the time we were out. It was adorable. She kept saying, "Run. run. run" and her run is still at that waddle phase.

This is another reason why the evening walks are my favorite.

All the girls.

Looking back on Taking it Easy Tuesday, we seemed to still stay busy and get some things accomplished. I can't imagine what Wednesday's post will look like because we had a jam-packed day with the wind gone and the sun back out to play.

And in other exciting news... Ever since we've had this trip planned, Mom has been going on about wanting to get a family picture taken on the beach. We would all wear kaki on bottom, white on top. It would be great. Yada. Yada. Yada. Well when we kept asking her who would take this amazing picture, she would say we would just ask some random, nice person on the beach to take it. There was no real plan about how to execute this picture. So, yesterday (Wednesday, yes, I'm jumping ahead here) Mom & Dad ventured out to another island and left the kids at home to play. Thanks to Danica & Josh's thoughtfulness and brain power, we ended up finding a local professional photographer on the island (Hatteras Island) to come take our pictures for us Friday evening!! We surprised Mom and Dad with this news over dinner, and we are so excited for our session! Hopefully I will be able to share some of those pictures with you as well.
