Pool Day #2

Eating a snack before going to the pool.

We're excited about the pool!

During the first adult swim break - She's either tired or disappointed that she had to get out of the pool.

Hydrating.

During the 2nd adult swim break - She's just too funny. This was completely unprompted.

Napping or sunbathing??

Oh yes, she laid in this position too.

I don't know what to do with this child. She is such a mess. Playing on the slide wearing a Clemson skull cap & a hot pink pirate eye patch. Both being worn upon her request.

And then the eye patch got readjusted to this...

And stayed that way all the way down the slide a few times.

Back to work tomorrow. It's been nice.

Happy Memorial Day!

First and foremost, I would like to thank all the men and women who have served & are serving our country in order to protect our freedom. Thank you for your service & your sacrifice.

Sunday afternoon:
1st day at the pool

taking a break for a snack

"Mommy, I'm tired of you & your camera. 'Cheese' already!"

Mega "Cheese!"

Monday morning:
Making brownies for the 1st time - fun for her, food for me :)

And apparently this is how we make brownies.

She got her own bowl & spoon to "make" brownies.

Helping stir the real ones.

Looking like she wants to fling it across the room.

Ta-da!

Oh, these faces keep getting better and better.

We also made a healthier snack for Josh & Tillman. They are frozen yogurt drops. (from Pinterest) Very yummy, healthy, & super easy!! I added a few real blueberries to the blueberry yogurt drops.
I'm not kidding when I say the brownies were just for me. Josh doesn't like chocolate & Tillman is not getting brownies.

Here is the first batch of strawberry-banana yogurt drops, already frozen and ready to consume.

Josh making progress staining the deck.

Tillman actually took this picture. I decided it was good enough to use, better than some of my own, actually.

Tillman took this one too. I like it.  :)

This has been our morning/afternoon so far. I accidentally threw off our morning when I went & got T out of bed, thinking it was 8:30. Turns out it was really 6:30; I can't read the alarm clock very effectively without my contacts. So, we've been up & going for awhile now. She & Josh are actually both napping right now. When they get up, we'll be headed to the pool for day #2.

I have to admit, this has been a very nice, relaxing 4-day weekend. It's kind of a tease though, b/c now we go back to school for 3 more weeks. This little taste of what summer holds will surely have all the kids (& teachers, too) longing for the offical end of the school year. I have a really great group of kids this year, though, so I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.

Again, Happy Memorial Day!! & Thank you to all those who've made this day of freedom possible!

Our Weekend, Thus Far

Here's a quick recap in pictures. It's late. I'm tired. No need to ramble. :)

FRIDAY Morning

Friday morning fun - We had Friday off from work & get Monday off too! :)
Happy Memorial Day!
It's blurry b/c she's jumping.

Getting creative w/ a ball pit tent of blankets.

This is what was going on inside the tent.
Where's Tillman?

There she is!

FRIDAY afternoon

Tired & ready for a nap - @ TD's

Josh commented on how it was weird to think of the long nights we used to spend at TD's & now to have our child their...

FRIDAY evening-ish

@ Rebekah & Matthew's pirate-themed birthday party

I tried to do her hair.

Singing "Happy Birthday"

Amanda made the cake/cupcakes - very impressed!

Slam dunk

She loved this the whole time. Will add it to the list of things T "needs".

There was a pirate pinata filled w/ candy.
It looks like she understands the concept.

...But, she really doesn't.

Not at all. I mean, look at all that candy to be taken, Tillman!

Arg! W/ a hot pink eye patch.

A nice blackmail picture for the future.

SATURDAY morning

We loved the pirate patch so much, we decided to wear it at breakfast the next morning.

Her first lawn mower ride w/ Daddy

I think she likes it.

The child sees a camera & says "Cheese" w/out prompting. I think she's used to a camera by now.

SATURDAY afternoon/evening

Snack time after a 3+ hour nap & snuggle time w/ Daddy
(while Mommy was out buying paint)

Thank you, Ms. Heather for the adorable skirt!

Checking out the new ABC window clings I got her while I was waiting on my paint order.

Getting spoiled rotten @ a cookout w/ Heather's parents & family.

Thank you, again, Ms. Heather for the 2 new pairs of shoes tonight!!
Loving time w/ Heather's mom.

A hot mess #1
Dinner consisted of largely watermelon & strawberries. Can you tell?

A hot mess #2
They provided the food. We provided the entertainment.

Goodnight! Sunday & Monday updates to come ...
