Thunderstorms, where??

I'm going ahead and recapping our weekend tonight, although there is still one more day of fun to be had. That will just give me a reason to sit down and write another post. We didn't really have any big plans for the weekend, but Josh wanted to mow the lawn, iron, and stain the back deck. I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I knew that it was calling for severe and isolated thunderstorms scattered throughout the entire weekend. That kind of put a bummer on some of the things we had tenatively talked about doing.

Anyways, Friday afternoon/evening we went to Greenville so we could go to SAM's. We really enjoy being members of SAM's Club, and we usually average a visit once a month. For one reason or another, it had been about 3 months or longer since we had been. Josh started getting antsy and anxious about going. (said in a jovial way) He said he just felt like we needed to go. Apparently we did need to go, b/c we ended up with a full buggy. And of course, T ended up with 2 new Carter's outfits. I love that SAM's sells Carter's clothes for what I consider a reasonable price. After SAM's we went to dinner at Copper River. (A big thank you to whomever gave us that giftcard.)

Saturday we somewhat randomly decided to go to a nearby neighborhood yardsale. The thunderstorms hadn't arrived yet. The neighborhood had had a big banner hanging up at their entrance and I passed by it daily on my way to and from work, so Josh and I decided to give it a try. This was our first yard saleing (is that right?) experience in the 10 years we have known each other. Again, T racked up with some goodies. The one thing I got (candles) was free, and Josh got himself a nice, new toy as well. (see pictures below) I think we may have a yard saleing future ahead of us.

Tillman excited to be helping Daddy drive through the neighborhood.
(Disclaimer: We were going all of 5-10 mph, this is the first time this has ever been done, we do not condone small children sitting in the front seat, and being out of a carseat.) Had to post for peace of mind.

We found another tunnel!!! If you read any of the Spring Break/Easter posts, you saw a similar tunnel at my mom and dad's house. We purposefully left it there so T could play with it when we travel back to Summerville next weekend. Now that we have our own tunnel in Easley, the other can stay at their house for keeps. I was soo excited when we walked up to this! ($2)

Seriously, this is why she ALWAYS has a bow in her hair.

She loves this one just as much as she loves the original from Grandma & Grandpa.

Again, bouncing off the tent/tunnel play equipment from the Spring Break/Easter posts, this is a brand new, never before been opened, gigantic tent/tunnel/multi-game/multi-purpose pop-up play equipment set-up. We are excited to see her reaction to this one. ($5)

Here are some more of our purchases from the yard sales.
2 tractors, a tamborine,  a cow flashlight, 3 articles of clothing (all for $1 total), a LeapPad, a puzzle, free candles, a life jacket, and several pop-up books.

And here is Josh's new toy. Yes, another Nerf dart gun!! The man has issues. He bought this toy from a kid for $1. I couldn't complain about $1. However, I do forsee this toy being a problem at some point in our future.

And yes, he will still shoot you!

*** McKinley, if you are reading this, beware! This will be used on you the next time you come over. Don't say I didn't warn you. ***

After the yard sales, we got breakfast at Chick-Fil-A. How could we not? Then we came back home, sanitized all T's new toys, and got busy playing with them. The thunderstorms still had not shown themselves, so Josh decided to go ahead and mow the lawn. He really wanted to stain the deck and has already bought the pain/stain, but he was afraid the rain would decide to show up mid-process and mess things up.
I love this little girl!!

And we're back to our tip-toe phase.

Such a cutie.

Chasing bubbles. A favorite pasttime.

Don't be fooled. She's just scribbling over my artistic masterpiece.
She was so funny b/c she was pretty particular about keeping all the chalk pieces in the bag. Before she took out a new piece, she would put the first one back in the bag. The extra piece you see now was mine.

She's getting better about blowing bubbles by herself!

I know this is early, but we will be out of town for Mother's Day, and I wanted to take a minute to wish all you mothers (and soon-to-be-mothers :)) a very happy Mother's Day!! You are a gift to be treasured for all you do for your children and your family. You are appreciated, Super Woman!

We played for a few hours, again, no rain. Then we did a little arts and crafts session, of which I cannot share with you yet. (Hint: Mother's Day is approaching.) And then T went down for a 3 hour nap. We got plenty accomplished during this time, but man did we get antsy. I love that she naps so well, but sometimes I miss her and want to go wake her up. Anyways, after waking her up and grabbing a snack, we ran a few errands in town. Then we came back, had dinner, and played until bedtime.

New stepping stones from the back deck to the driveway/garage.

She likes them too.

I'm pretty excited about them myself.

So, somewhat of a long story, but a very cute one nonetheless. While I was making dinner, Josh was watching tv/playing with his new dart gun, and Tillman was seriously in her own little world. She would run into the kitchen, climb her tower, grab a Cheerio, climb down from her tower, run back into the den, spend a few minutes in there, and then start the cycle all over again. Run into the kitchen, climb the tower, get a Cheerio, etc., etc., etc.  So after a few times of this, I made a comment to Josh that she was in her own world, and I asked what she was doing when she went into the den. Mind you, I was in the middle of making dinner. He said she was playing with her babydoll. My immediate reaction was, "Is she feeding her babydoll Cheerios?!?!" The next thing I heard was Josh laughing and saying, "Yeh, she is." So I asked him to take a quick picture. (See babydoll below.)

Bless her heart. She was sharing with her babydoll.  :)
She knows how to make Mama proud. Gosh she is smart.
