First and foremost, I would like to thank all the men and women who have served & are serving our country in order to protect our freedom. Thank you for your service & your sacrifice.
Sunday afternoon:
1st day at the pool
taking a break for a snack
"Mommy, I'm tired of you & your camera. 'Cheese' already!"
Mega "Cheese!"
Monday morning:
Making brownies for the 1st time - fun for her, food for me :)
And apparently this is how we make brownies.
She got her own bowl & spoon to "make" brownies.
Helping stir the real ones.
Looking like she wants to fling it across the room.
Ta-da!
Oh, these faces keep getting better and better.
We also made a healthier snack for Josh & Tillman. They are frozen yogurt drops. (from Pinterest) Very yummy, healthy, & super easy!! I added a few real blueberries to the blueberry yogurt drops.
I'm not kidding when I say the brownies were just for me. Josh doesn't like chocolate & Tillman is not getting brownies.
Here is the first batch of strawberry-banana yogurt drops, already frozen and ready to consume.
Josh making progress staining the deck.
Tillman actually took this picture. I decided it was good enough to use, better than some of my own, actually.
Tillman took this one too. I like it. :)
This has been our morning/afternoon so far. I accidentally threw off our morning when I went & got T out of bed, thinking it was 8:30. Turns out it was really 6:30; I can't read the alarm clock very effectively without my contacts. So, we've been up & going for awhile now. She & Josh are actually both napping right now. When they get up, we'll be headed to the pool for day #2.
I have to admit, this has been a very nice, relaxing 4-day weekend. It's kind of a tease though, b/c now we go back to school for 3 more weeks. This little taste of what summer holds will surely have all the kids (& teachers, too) longing for the offical end of the school year. I have a really great group of kids this year, though, so I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can.
Again, Happy Memorial Day!! & Thank you to all those who've made this day of freedom possible!
