Yesterday T and I headed to Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, NC to go apple picking with some friends from church. T and I carpooled there with our friends Kasi and Hadley. None of us had been to Sky Top before, so it was a learning experience to say the least. We had a good time, but learned a lot about how to come better prepared for the next visit. We also had some cranky moments and melt downs throughout the day. I can't blame the girls though. It was hot, we didn't bring a wagon or stroller, and we were just plain overwhelmed with the crowd. On the plus side, we did leave with some delicious apple doughnuts and cider to refuel from the day.
Here's our visit to Sky Top:
Hadley & Tillman getting ready to go explore Sky Top.
Tillman at the sign.
Showing the camera that hay is for the horses.
Part of the playground.
Watching Hadley come down the slide.
Hadley!
Another section of the play area.
Carrying the bucket to go pick some apples.
It's getting heavier every apple we add.
Most of the gang.
Another shot.
Tillman being silly.
I love this one. She was trying to hold as many apples as possible at one time.
The girls picking.
Most of their apple came from the ground. They couldn't reach the ones on the tree.
Hadley and Kasi "picking" an apple.
Carrying T through the hooooot orchard.
Feeding the sheep.
And the goats. We had a meltdown when it was time to leave the animals.
Cooling down with some fresh apple cider.
Whew. What a day.
