Josh's birthday!! (#33)
This was one of my favorite days of the week! Not just b/c it was Josh's birthday, but b/c we were able to spend 22 hours alone, by ourselves, child-free, doing whatever we pleased - and we did some things that we don't usually do - or have ever done. This was the 1st time in 17 months this happened. (& Tillman is 17 months old as of...today!)
This got turned (arg!) but this is Josh's birthday breakfast - bacon, ham, & cheese omlet.
ATP Gun Shop
Yes, that is a gun. And, yes, I shot it. That's a 22mm for those that know something about guns. I knew nothing before this experience, and still consider myself to know little to nothing now. All I did was aim and pull the trigger. Josh did all the loading, preparing, and setting up of everything.
Birthday Boy!
Y'all, I can't explain to you how good at this Josh was/is! I was/am so impressed w/ his skills. He got all his shots (60) in the smallest target circle possible. I told him it was b/c of all the video games he plays, but I just think he has a knack for shooting a target.
Scared to death!! I jumped at every gunshot for the first 20 min. And I shot my entire first round w/ my eyes closed. It was just too real for me.
It's so weird to see yourself shooting a gun.
Proud that every shot (40) hit the pink target w/ no head shots and a couple that actually hit the target X in the middle.
He did soo good!!
Walking the Cooper River Bridge
It was a beautiful day! We parked at a gas station that allowed bridge-walkers parking and grabbed a snack ("lunch") to carry and eat with us as we walked. We walked half way up, stopped and looked around, took a picture, then walked back down to the car to head downtown. I love my Chacos, but don't recommend walking the bridge in them. Thankfully the gas station had some really amazing band-aids. Seriously, they were wonderful!
Kaminsky's
After walking the bridge we went downtown and walked the streets, did some shopping, walked the market, etc. We decided to hop into Kaminsky's for some dessert since we never officially ate a real lunch.
New York style Cheesecake & an Oreo milkshake - fuel to rejuvenate us for more fun.
Some of the purchases made throughout the day.
Mellow Mushroom
After shopping downtown, we hit certain parts of the Citadel Mall area and then headed to Mellow Mushroom in West Ashley for dinner. We decided we wanted to order something a little different, so we asked the waiter what he recommended. His recommendation was Red Potato Pie - basically loaded potato skins on pizza. It had potatoes, bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives, a ranch sauce, and carmelized onions on pizza crust. We decided to play it safe and order our pizza half and half so that if we didn't like the Red Potato Pie, we would still have another half we knew we would like. (Mighty Meaty - aka: a heart attack waiting to happen)
Happy Birthday, Josh!!
We both went for the Red Potato Pie slices first. Of course, we wanted to try it out. We actually both really liked the pizza and decided to split the 3rd/last piece pictured above. We didn't even touch the Mighty Meaty b/c we didn't want to ruin the flavor of the first. Conclusion: It was good and I would eat it again. It's literally like eating loaded potato skins.
